Labour Link Disrupts the Prevalence of Forced/Bonded Labour in Bangladesh Informal RMG Supply Chains from the Bottom Up

Once Bangladesh’s garment sector was known for its forced labour and the employment of high-risk child labours. Due to the introduction of strict labour rules in Bangladesh, forced labour has been reduced from the formal garment sector. However, forced labour is still visible in the informal apparel sector. BLF is implementing this project with the financial support of ELEVATE Hong Kong Holdings Limited. The aim of the project is to reduce the tendency of forced labour in informal RMG factories and increase transparency and business operations in RMG factories in Keraniganj by deploying surveys to collect, analyse, and share forced labour conditions and risks and help the informal RMG sector become a formal RMG sector by notifying people about the risks of forced labour.
