ToT on Just Transition for Youth and Women Leaders

To ensure that workers are not left behind in the face of climate change, automation, and energy transition, Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), organized a 3-day Training of Trainers from June 21–23, supported by Mondiaal FNV and Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS).

This initiative empowered young and women trade union leaders from the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector to take charge in leading a worker-centered Just Transition. These emerging leaders now form a core group committed to ensuring that the transition towards greener technologies and climate-friendly production does not come at the cost of workers’ jobs, rights, or dignity.

The training provided essential tools in leadership, advocacy, and awareness-building—so that workers’ voices are heard in policy spaces and workplace transitions. These trained leaders will now mobilize workers across factories and unions, pushing for policies that protect livelihoods while promoting sustainable development.
