TRADE UNION & HUMAN RIGHT

TRADE UNION & HUMAN RIGHT

Human rights, including labour and trade union rights, have been an important step to improve the working and living conditions of the working class. The ability of workers to organise allows them to use their collective power to achieve improved labour rights, health and safety standards at the workplace, and protections against discrimination and forced labour, including child labour. Despite all recognition by the United Nations and the International Labour Organisation, trade union rights are yet to be effectively respected, protected at the local and national levels especially country like Bangladesh. Together with its associates, BLF carries out ongoing campaign action for the universal respect of trade union rights. The BLF defends trade unionists whenever their fundamental human rights are violated as a result of their trade union activities. It also takes action against other labour rights violations and other violations of human rights, especially where these affect working people.
